Description

AGTHM is a non-denominational holistic ministry for the glorious transformation of African peoples and societies. Our mission is, “To catalyze a Holy Spirit-birthed revival in the church in Africa and the glorious transformation of African peoples and societies, through sound scriptural applications.”

Conceptually, AGTHM is a broad-based ministry, a consortium of authentic and practical Christian ministries, aimed at sensitizing and galvanizing the church in this generation to rise up to the challenge of fulfilling the divinely-assigned mission of the church as the pillar and ground of truth, the light of the world, and the salt of the earth. We strongly believe it is time for the Church in Africa that has been growing most rapidly within the past thirty years to be revived so that a veritable army of the Lord would be raised from among the millions of truly revived African Christian men and women.

It is pertinent to state categorically that this ministry is not envisaged to grow into a “church,” as has been done in the past by certain groups that began as inter-denominational fellowships and metamorphosed into “churches.” In fact, by its very nature, AGTHM cannot become a “church,” since that would be completely counter-productive with regard to the heart of its vision. Rather “members” of the ministry are drawn from various church denominations—as many as are in agreement with the essential aspirations of the ministry (See conditions for membership below). The vast majority of the members are expected to remain completely occupied with their various professions/occupations and local church commitments without being “distracted” in any way by their membership of AGTHM. Their membership of AGTM could consist only in their applying sound biblical/scriptural principles in their daily professions, thereby integrating faith and work in such a way as to transform the church and society. They will also be sent various publications of the ministry aimed at deepening their commitment to the renewal/transformation of the church and society, and would be encouraged (but not required) to participate in at least one of the numerous programs of the ministry, including general and special conferences, seminars/workshops, and other public forums organized by the ministry every year.

The holistic concept of the ministry is designed to enable her catalyze local churches and individual Christians to embrace sound biblical principles and practices in all aspects of life; to bring Christian men and women in Africa into conformity with basic Christian spiritual and ethical standards, as contained in the Bible; by which they will become effective representatives of our Lord Jesus Christ as the light of the world and the salt of the earth, on the bases of which African peoples and societies will be transformed. Thus the ministry shall operate more or less as a consortium of different and largely semi-autonomous units, departments, organizations or associations, social and pressure groups and movements, institutions, projects, and enterprises, properly coordinated to cover all walks of life, and thus make optimum spiritual, moral and physical positive transforming impact on African peoples and societies. In this regard, every truly born-again child of God could have some role to play in the realization of the total vision of the ministry—at least to the extent that he or she begins to actively reject and oppose worldly, anti-biblical standards of life, and embrace sound biblical standards as over-riding guidelines for life and business.

Prophesies about the great work the Lord will do in and through the church in Africa have been numerous within the past two decades. Every spiritually sensitive Christian leader in the continent would have no problem whatsoever in identifying with the fact that it is the will of God to revive the church in Africa and to, subsequently, use these revived Church and individual Christians as His agents for the glorious transformation of African peoples and societies. The transformed and comprehensively empowered church and peoples of Africa, full of the Holy Spirit and power, will then constitute the army of the Lord who will fully carry out the Great Commission mandate of the Master, by effectively taking the gospel to all the nations of the world—through North Africa, to the Middle East, to Western Europe, to all the lands of Asia, to Eastern Europe, across the Atlantic to the Americas, North and South, and to Australia and all the neighboring islands; indeed to “all the nations (people groups) of the earth,” in preparation for the coming of the King of kings and Lord of lords, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This is the summary of the vision the Lord has given to the church in Africa.

We are convinced that the set time for the realization of this great vision has come. Therefore, AGTHM stands to sensitize, mobilize and coordinate the church and individual Christians in Africa to arise and cooperate with the Lord toward the realization of this heavenly vision.
